In an effort to continue offering aromatherapy education centered around safety, we spent years collecting data on cases of the adverse effects of essential oils.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are currently not collecting data on essential oil injuries. Additionally, the website that hosted all the previous reports is no longer available, so those reports are not up for viewing at this time. However, we do hope to be able to get those back out in the future.
Keep up-to-date with any changes on our main injury reporting page.
I cannot help but notice that some of the "injuries" could very well have been the symptoms that required a remedy. The OnGuard user (I think it was ID #8) complained of sneezing. It seems that someone taking OnGuard might be already in the prcoess of developing (or fighting) a cold, which could lead to sneezing.
ID #21 complained of flatulence after taking a mix of oils that are meant to help with intestinal discomfort. Isn’t it actually expected that one would experience the release of gas after experiencing intestinal discomfort?
I certainly don’t want to nit-pick. I merely want to understand the severity of what is being reported. I use some of these oils and am looking for safer ways to use them, which is what led me here in the first place.
